The primary purpose of this position is to provide direct spiritual care to patients and their families. In this capacity supportive visits, crisis intervention, grief counselling and referral, facilitation of family dialogue, worship leadership, group work, and interdisciplinary liaison compose the salient features. This is a front line position reporting to the Manager of Spiritual Health Services.
Previous experience working in a related field.
University preparation at the graduate level and post graduate studies in spirituality/theology required.
Two advanced units of clinical pastoral education or equivalency preferred.
Candidates who are working towards application for certification with the Canadian Association for Spiritual Care or equivalency will be given priority.
A combination of equivalent educational experiences may be considered.
Evidence of good standing from a religious/spiritual tradition and subject to a code of ethics by a national professional body.

Victoria General Hospital has a mandate to provide service in French; preference will be given to bilingual (French/English) candidates.
