Spiritual Care Counselor & Guide (Chaplain), known as “Ezzree Guide” provides counsel, comfort, spiritual support and gentle guidance to the spiritual needs of “Uzers” (official name of Ezzree’s clientele). The individual who serves in the role of Ezzree Guide provides a spiritual care presence, perspective, and encouragement when consulting with Uzers regarding ethical, moral or personal issues. The Ezzree Guide’s primary role is to provide general support to Uzers who are seeking care, support and feedback during times of life transition/transformation, daily travail and questioning. In addition, the Ezzree Guide should be skilled in crisis and bereavement counseling.

The Ezzree Guide promotes a healing environment enhancing spiritual and mental health and wellbeing for those in need. The role of the Ezzree Guide will be to support individual and groups of Uzers within Ezzree’s standards of visitation and to use professional discretion to adjust to a variety of environments with specific agreements and requirements. The Ezzree Guide must uphold Ezzree’s policies, procedures and protocols. Furthermore, when the Ezzree Guide is assigned to work within a particular institution, company or health care environment, he/she will also be responsible to uphold the policies, procedures and protocols of the organization.
The Ezzree Guide’s duties include providing meaningful encounters with Uzers. The Ezzree Guide must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of clinical spiritual care, human development and the challenges of the human condition that impact a Uzer’s life. The Ezzree Guide must demonstrate an active understanding of intergenerational, economic, interreligious, cross-cultural and interethnic competencies and sensitivities. He/she is also required to serve individuals and groups across the spectrum of sexual orientation, gender and relationship status.
The ability to assess information and perform spiritual assessments and to respond effectively and supportively is essential and required. In addition, the Ezzree Guide supports educational and community activities that include promoting Ezzree, teaching, community involvement and participation in research as appropriate.
Basic Skills / Requirements
Ezzree Guides must be a minimum of 21 years old. Candidates preferably should have earned a minimum of four units of Clinical Pastoral Education and meet the basic requirements that make them eligible to become Board Certified Chaplains through national and international certifying bodies. If a candidate is not Board Certified, they should preferably be working to obtain certification after joining Ezzree. The requirements for certification include but are not limited to an MA in theology – an advanced degree from an accredited seminary or equivalent; a minimum of 4 units of CPE or advanced training in spiritual care; experience functioning in spiritual care without direct supervision and experience in crisis and bereavement counseling. Applicants who are already certified may be considered before those who are still in process and working towards certification.
The desire to work flexible hours which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, weekends and on-call. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Ezzree Guides require the skills to respond effectively to unpredictable situations within the Uzer care setting, either online or in person. Ezzree Guides are required to work both autonomously and in a team environment. Ordination/endorsement/commissioning for services as a chaplain or spiritual care counselor by recognized religious, spiritual, institutional bodies is preferred and assessed on an individual basis.
License or Certification:
Certification and/or eligibility for certification as a Board Certified Chaplain is preferred. Certification and/or eligibility for it by the following organizations are preferred: Association of Professional Chaplains, Neshama: Association of Jewish Chaplains, National Association of Catholic Chaplains, and other recognized national and international equivalents. If you are hired as an Ezzree Guide consultant without this status, you will be required to be in the process towards it.
