Mid Winter Gathering- “Come in from Out of the Cold and Open Your Eyes” – 6:45 pm February 7, 2020

CASC Mb Executive invited Members to participate in an engaging event in conjunction to the art exhibition currently on display at the Winnipeg Art Gallery (300 Memorial Blvd.) Over a dozen Members came out

“Shame and Prejudice” is a retrospective show featuring the work of Kent Monkman (a Cree artist originally from Winnipeg). His work deals with the topics of settler/indigenous relations in a serious, yet whimsical way. Recently, he was featured in the news, as two of his large-scale pieces are on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City! He’s well on the way to being a modern-day, living art Master. Feel free to invite the special person in your life!  After a discussion on the show participants gathered for coffee/Tea and dessert at Stella’s down the road.

Continuing Education Committee Invitation to offer Lunch and Learn Webinar

Calling CASC/ACSS members who have a gift for teaching OR a passion for a particular topic relevant to Spiritual Care OR simply the willingness to take on a new challenge!

On behalf of the CASC/ACSS Manitoba Region Continuing Education Committee, I’m writing to invite you to consider leading a Lunch and Learn webinar for your fellow members. With the success of the November 27th webinar from Simon Lasair, we want to build on this momentum and invite local members to follow a similar format helping learn from one another. These events will be free for CASC members.

  • This is an opportunity to provide a 45-50min teaching, with 10-15mins Q&A, on a topic of interest to other Spiritual Care Practitioners.
  • The webinar will be run on Zoom, so the presenter will need lunchtime access to a computer with webcam and microphone.
  • Topics could range from learning about spiritual assessments, new paradigms, therapeutic techniques, research results, group curriculums, and beyond.
  • If you are interested in applying, please email cascmbconted@gmail.com with a description of your topic, why this would be helpful to other members, and when you could have this teaching ready. You will then be contacted by the Chair of the Continuing Education Committee to discuss further.
