Director, Spiritual Health, Mission and Ethics
Accountable to the Joint Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Providence Care and Kingston Health Sciences Centre, the Director for Spiritual Health, Mission and Ethics has responsibility for Spiritual Health, Mission and Ethics at Providence Care. Through a sharing arrangement with Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC), the Director is also responsible for Spiritual Health, Mission, and Ethics at the Hotel Dieu Hospital site of KHSC; as well as Spiritual Health at KHSC’s Kingston General Hospital site. The Director is responsible for leading the vision, planning, education, fiscal oversight and provision of services and activities for all services identified above. Spiritual Health, Mission and Ethics encompasses a range of programs and services that seek to meet diverse needs of clients / patients / residents, families, physicians and staff across the organizations. The Director also serves in an advisory and supportive role to Senior Leadership Teams and the Boards of Directors in relationship to the Roman Catholic Sponsors: the Catholic Health Sponsors of Ontario (CHSO) and Catholic Health International (CHI). The Director is a member of key leadership committees at both Providence Care and KHSC.
Qualified applicants will possess the following:
- Masters required with Doctoral Degree preferred in Theology, Pastoral Studies and Religion
- Certification with the Canadian Association for Spiritual Care (CASC) required
- Registration with the College of Registered Psychotherapists (CRPO)
- Five years of experience in leadership in Spiritual Health, Mission and Ethics services in an academic health care, preferably in a unionized setting
