Job Summary:

The Director of Mission is accountable to the President and CEO of St. Paul’s Hospital, in the CEO’s role of ensuring that SPH lives out its vision, mission, and values in a way that is faithful to its identity within the context of the affiliation with the Saskatchewan Health Authority and the community we serve.

The Director of Spiritual and Cultural Care is accountable to the SKHA (Saskatoon) Vice President for Integrated Health Service’s for the provision of spiritual and cultural care according to the regions vision, mission, and values.


A minimum of three years of experience in full-time active ministry


Required Qualifications

Theological degree, preferably Master of Divinity or equivalent

  • Ability to identify with the philosophy, mission and values of the organization and to articulate these to diverse audiences

  • Demonstrate respect for and appreciation of the collaborative partnership between St. Paul’s Hospital and the Saskatchewan Health Authority
  • Knowledge of and commitment continuous improvement
  • Knowledge of and commitment to advance the recommendations of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission as pertinent to the role
  • Knowledge of and commitment to building a culture of safety
  • Knowledge of and commitment to patient and client centered care
  • Personal commitment to the charism, vision, mission and values of the Sisters of Charity of Montreal (Grey Nuns) and St. Paul’s Hospital
  • Significant understanding of the basis for the vision, mission and values of St. Paul’s Hospital that is rooted in scripture, in teaching of the
  • Catholic Church and in the history of Catholic health care in Canada
  • Superior written and oral communication skills
  • Understanding of and the skill to apply the philosophies of the SKHA (Saskatoon) and St. Paul’s Hospital inherent in the above environment
